Geofactory at MMH Sevilla 2024: A showcase of innovation in core cutting and geological sampling

From October 15 to 17, 2024, Geofactory proudly took part in the Mining and Minerals Hall (MMH) in Seville an essential event for the mining and metallurgical industry in Europe. Held at the FIBES exhibition center, the trade fair brought together professionals from around the world to explore the latest technological innovations, exchange best practices, and advance a more sustainable future for the industry.

Robust and durable machines at the core of our stand

Geofactory’s presence at MMH 2024 was driven by a clear objective: to highlight reliable, durable solutions tailored to both field and laboratory requirements. Two machines stood out and captured the attention of visitors—the Mining Core Saw, designed for the most demanding mining environments, and the Dual-Axis Saw, developed for high-precision cutting in laboratory settings.

Sustainability was a central theme of our presentation, supported by the extensive use of stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant material that extends equipment lifespan and significantly reduces environmental impact. This approach fully aligns with the principles of sustainable engineering, where technical performance goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility.

Mining Core Saw: The Ideal Solution for Large-Scale Cutting Projects A true highlight of our stand, the Mining Core Saw attracted strong interest from exploration operators and field professionals. Equipped with a powerful 12.5 HP engine, this manual saw ensures maximum reliability, even in the most remote locations. Its robust design allows for efficient cutting of core samples up to PQ size, while maintaining a high production rate of up to 100 meters per day, depending on geological conditions.

One of its key features is the removable core holder, which makes it easier to handle fractured or fragile samples and minimizes the risk of breakage. Built to meet the realities of field operations, this machine combines rugged performance, operator safety, and easy maintenance.

Dual-Axis Saw: Precision Cutting in a Controlled Environment Designed for laboratory use, the Dual Axis Saw also drew strong interest particularly from research institutions and laboratories specializing in core analysis. With its ability to perform both longitudinal and transverse cuts, it enables comprehensive sample preparation with exceptional precision. ts integrated cooling nozzles, high-precision motor,
and safety features (emergency stop buttons, protective blade guards) ensure optimal performance while maintaining operator safety. Several visitors highlighted the cutting quality, ease of use, and overall ergonomic design of the machine.

Geofactory’s diamond blade range: Geofactory also took the opportunity at the trade show to present its complete range of diamond blades, designed to suit various cutting conditions and rock types. From segmented blades for abrasive rocks to ultra-thin models for delicate formations, our team provided expert guidance to numerous professionals on key selection criteria such as rock abrasiveness, rotation speed, and fluid use.

This technical support service offers real added value to our clients, helping them choose the most efficient and durable solutions for their specific sampling needs.

Looking Ahead Beyond the technical demonstrations, our participation in MMH 2024 was an opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing partners, connect with new prospects, and engage in valuable discussions about the future needs of the industry.
