A Core Cutting Saw, also known as a Lapidary Saw Machine, is crucial for preparing geological samples and studying minerals. This device, featuring a diamond saw blade, cuts through rocks and minerals precisely, playing a pivotal role in sectors like Oil & Gas, mining, geotechnical, earth sciences, and geomechanics. Its precision cutting is essential for petrofiscal analysis and geological assessments.
The Slabbing saw 500, meticulously crafted for both wellsite and laboratory applications, introduces a groundbreaking innovation: automated transport of core samples to the diamond blade, complemented by an advanced cooling system utilizing steerable fluid. This safety feature significantly enhances cut precision, particularly crucial during biscuit slice preparation. Notably, the height regulator system allows for precise manual adjustment of the abrasive blade's position above the inner tube (Aluminum, Fiberglass) with millimeter accuracy. Moreover, the saw offers a dry cutting option, further expanding its versatility. Operators can now effortlessly cut.
The Dual-Axis is indispensable both in field settings and laboratory environments for core preparation. This tool is designed to receive core samples 4” in diameter and 50 cm long and using a rotating support that allows one to cut rock sample from an axis of 0° to 90° (slabbing & trimming). It offers the additional advantage that the core sample is moved to the diamond blade and cooled with a steerable hydraulic setup. We have two models on offer: the 3 HP Model and the 4 HP Model.
The Explo Core Saw is an exclusive design, engineered to slab drill core sections up to 50 cm in length and PQ in diameter. This versatile tool is portable and ideal for both on-site and laboratory applications. It features a powerful tri-phase 4HP motor as standard, with an option to customize to a one-phase 3HP motor. Additionally, it includes an efficient recirculating water system for optimal operation.
Geofactory developed a model of manual saw specially designed for the mining industry. The “Mining Saw” is made of 100% stainless steel to protect against corrosion and powered with an engine of 12HP. It equipped with a different removable core holder to speed-up the cutting process and allow to work simply with fractured core up to PQ size. Extremely safe, the operator can cut with a forward speed of +/-0.8s per 1 cm that allow a large production of cut and always in security condition (less of 83dB). This saw can be customized for your project.
Soft Core Splitter: engineered for precise cutting of soft and unconsolidated geological formation drill cores, this device delivers clean cuts with ease. It is safe and user-friendly, ensuring reliable performance every time. Its intuitive design simplifies operation and maintenance, making it an ideal choice for efficient core drilling samples and rock study.
The Trimming Saw is a tool adapted to trim the plugs after a plugging operation. It has been designed to cut up to 7 plugs in a double pass. The quality of the blade enables an excellent precision of the cut and the trim is recovered in a numbered cell. The tool is equipped with all the protections to guarantee safe handling and a recirculating coolant system for high viscosity fluid as drilling mud.
Geofactory offers a range of diamond blades that delivers excellent results when cutting hard formations, abrasive materials, and aluminum. With its very long lifespan, this diamond blade ensures a clear and precise cut when working with rock samples
Geofactory has designed a Slabbing saw 350 adapted for both the wellsite and laboratory environment. It offers the main advantage that the core sample is moved to the diamond blade and cooled with a steerable hydraulic setup. This system provides more sensitivity to the cut which is really essential particularly when biscuit slices are processed. Moving a manually mechanical crank, the operator can adjust with millimetric accuracy the diamond blade at the inner tube and cut it prior to a plugging or photography operation.
The Slabbing saw 450 is adapted for wellsite and laboratory environment offers the main advantage that the core sample is mechanically moved to the diamond blade and cooled with steerable fluid setup. This safety system provides more sensitivity of the cut which is really essential particularly when biscuit slices are processed. The innovation of this instrument comes also from the regulator system of the height of the blade above the inner tube (Aluminium, Fiberglass). Moving a manually mechanical crank, the operator can adjust with millimetre accuracy the abrasive blade at the inner tube and cut it prior to plugging or photography operation.
A Core Saw, also referred to as a Core Cut Saw, is indispensable for preparing geological samples and studying minerals. This device, equipped with a diamond blade, efficiently cuts through rocks and minerals with high precision. It is vital in fields such as Oil & Gas, mining, geotechnical studies, earth sciences, and geomechanics. The Core Saw‘s accurate cutting capabilities are crucial for detailed petrofiscal analysis and comprehensive geological assessments.
For professionals in the field of earth sciences and geology, the Core Saw, also referred to as a lapidary rock saw, plays a vital role in the slicing of rocks and minerals for petrofiscal analysis and geological assessments. A specific type of core cut saw , known as slab saw variants, proves especially valuable for cutting larger rocks into slabs. These slabs serve as foundational materials for further cutting or polishing, unveiling internal structures pivotal for in-depth examination and analysis. This systematic process facilitates meticulous investigations and amplifies the accuracy and efficiency of geological research endeavors.
Geofactory’s diamond blades are meticulously engineered for rock cutting applications, offering exceptional precision and performance. Whether it’s the segmented blade with a specialized ‘PDA’ bond for hard granite or the continuous rim cutting blade designed for superior performance, our products are tailored to meet the diverse needs of geological projects. In addition to our advanced blades, the diamond-coated Core Saw offers unmatched versatility, allowing efficient cutting through a range of materials from soft sandstone to hard quartz. These features make our tools indispensable for geologists and gemologists alike, enabling efficient processing of various geological specimens with ease.
When selecting a Core Saw, important factors to consider include the motor RPM, blade lubrication, and forward speed. Additionally, you should consider:
Safety is paramount when operating Core Saws, commonly used in lapidary applications. Users must wear protective gear and maintain a clean, organized workspace. The coolant reservoir in these saws serves a dual role: it prevents overheating of the blade and minimizes dust exposure, both of which contribute to a safer working environment. These precautions help ensure that the saw operates efficiently and safely, protecting the user and maintaining the integrity of the geological samples being processed.
For international buyers of Core Saws, it’s essential to verify product specifications such as weight, motor details, and electrical compatibility. Making sure the saw matches local power supplies and that support services are accessible in your region is crucial for a hassle-free operational experience.
A Core Saw is a sophisticated tool, pivotal for both scientific research and artistic endeavors. Its capability to precisely cut various types of rocks and minerals renders it an invaluable asset across multiple sectors. By carefully selecting the appropriate machine, adhering to safety protocols, and utilizing all available accessories, users can greatly enhance their operational efficiency and safety. This makes the Core Saw a worthy investment for any professional’s toolkit.
